Cookie Policy

We keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use advertising, profiling or third-party analytics cookies.
Strictly-necessary cookies (client portal only)
These are only set when you use the client portal at portal.actasecurity.eu, and they're required for it to work:
- acta_session — keeps you signed in after you enter your one-time code. Signed, HttpOnly, ~30 days.
- acta_otp — temporarily holds the (hashed) one-time login code during sign-in. HttpOnly, ~10 minutes.
No equivalent cookies are set just for browsing the public website.
Third-party cookies
- ALTCHA bot check — our contact form and portal sign-in use ALTCHA, a self-hosted proof-of-work bot check that runs entirely in your browser. ALTCHA does not set any cookies and sends no data to third parties; the cryptographic computation happens locally and the result is submitted with your form.
- Chatwoot (live support chat) — when you use the live chat widget on the client portal dashboard, our self-hosted Chatwoot instance sets functional cookies required to maintain the chat session and associate your messages with your account. These cookies are first-party (set on
chat.actasecurity.eu) and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. They are only set if you interact with the chat widget. - meetergo — if you open the booking calendar, meetergo (our EU scheduling provider) may set cookies needed to run that embedded booking widget.
Your cookie choices
When you visit this site for the first time, a banner appears at the bottom of the page with two options:
- Accept all — enables strictly-necessary cookies plus functional cookies (live chat and booking widget). Your preference is stored for 12 months.
- Necessary only — only strictly-necessary cookies are active. The live chat widget and booking calendar will not load. Your preference is stored for 12 months.
You can change your preference at any time by clicking Cookie settings (shown in the booking section when functional cookies are declined) or by clearing your browser's local storage for actasecurity.eu to reset the banner.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Note that deleting the strictly-necessary cookies listed above will sign you out of the client portal.
